Executive Director Role Overview
As Executive Director, you'll oversee all strategic, operational, and financial aspects of our organization while inspiring teams and building partnerships that advance our literacy mission.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the recruitment, training, and management of students, tutors, and volunteers.

Oversee programs such as Book Pals and ensure effective tutor placement and performance.

Drive fundraising efforts and secure grants to sustain and expand our initiatives.

Plan and execute public relations campaigns to improve visibility and community engagement.

Manage websites, social media platforms, and communication channels.

Collaborate with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a leader who:

Has experience in nonprofit leadership, program management, and community relations.

Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.

Is passionate about literacy, education, and community development.

Can inspire and mobilize teams to achieve ambitious goals.
Requirements
● Interested in promoting Adult, ESL and Family Literacy education.
● Experience managing or leading people or projects.
● Experienced in Word, Excel, Google applications, Canva, Adobe Express
● Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
● Comfortable with and informed about fundraising ideas and techniques.
● Able to build and maintain effective working relationships with students, volunteers, donors, employees, and Board members.
● Valid State of Montana driver’s license and access to own transportation.
● Submit to a background check through Helena Public Schools.
Experience/Education
● Bachelor’s degree from accredited University preferred, however, not required.
WAGE/BENEFITS:
● Hours: Part-time 20 hours/week, flexible hours (hybrid: office/at home)
● Location: Helena, MT
