FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO CAN BE A STUDENT?
Anyone who needs to gain literacy skills! We have students who are learning English for the first time, students who need a little extra math or writing help for work, and even students who are practicing for their HiSet, GED, or drivers training. We also have a book club where people can practice reading and comprehending English literature.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BE A STUDENT?
WHO WILL BE TUTORING ME?
We have people from all walks of life available to help you. We will always work to match you with a tutor who will make you feel comfortable and safe while they're teaching you what you need to know in order to succeed. Please let us know if you need specific accommodations. We want your education to be obstacle-free.
WHAT ARE SOME TYPICAL GOALS FOR STUDENTS?
Our students' goals are as diverse as our students themselves. Their goals range from the very beginning - learning letters - all the way up to being fluent in conversational and formal English. Our students' goals also include things like learning ten new words a week, passing their driving test, or getting their GED. We're here to help YOU meet YOUR goals.
Nothing. Every service we provide is free. From HiSet prep to conversational English groups, everything is free of charge. We rely on grants, donations, and other charitable funding because the people most in need of tutoring are often not in a position to afford one-on-one help. We think education should be available to all!
